About Sidama IPDC

The primary milestone in the corporation's history is the operation of the flagship Yirgalem Integrated Agro-Industrial Park (YIAIP), spanning 294.5 hectares. SIPDC established a linked supply network connecting the central park to multiple strategically located Rural Transformation Centers (RTCs) across the region—such as those in Aleta Wondo, Daye, and Morocho to aggregate, sort, and process agricultural inputs directly from local farming communities. Overall Key Achievements:  Agricultural Value Addition: Successfully operationalized specialized processing plants for high-value agricultural commodities, including avocado oil, processed honey, coffee capsules, and dairy products. Smallholder Market Integration: Integrated over 100,000 regional smallholder farmers into commercial supply chains, significantly boosting farm-gate prices and direct market access. Job Creation: Generated over 700 direct industrial jobs and more than 6,000 indirect employment opportunities across local logistical and agricultural networks. Infrastructure & Investment Mobilization: Developed modern, sustainable factory sheds equipped with dedicated power, water, and waste treatment infrastructure to attract both domestic and international investors.
